Chapter One

Very Early Works

I decided to include some of my earliest works not because I think they're particularly good, but because they show how my artwork originated and how it has evolved over time. Looking back at these, I can see threads that have permeated many of my works: my use of line and color, my tendencies toward abstraction, and even some common elements like my depictions of hands, eyes, skulls, plants, and my study of self-portraiture.
